We have just celebrated our main anniversary. It is not one of the usual ones - first meeting, first night together, getting married - but despite neither of us mentioning it we were both very aware that it was coming. The anniversary of Alison's operation, now two years ago.
Without it, she would by now likely have died; instead of which she is her normal active self with no limitations.
Our lives continue on being busy, as usual, despite continuing to work 2 days per week. And in the offing is the arrival of our first grandchild, due in a month's time. Alison is quite excited by this,I am less so; friends say it will be different when the baby is actually here, and they may very well be right. But for the moment, to me, it all seems rather unreal.
And the picture? We went to Elmore Field Days - a very large agricultural show in a very small country town - and accidentally bought a greenhouse. And with our new car with no roof racks, it was a small miracle that we fitted it inside; but we did, though we had to drive home unable to see each other at all!
(We now have acquired some roof racks.)
