We travelled to Paris to visit Sylvie and Jean-Charles, and their daughter Fanny, whom we had met last year in Tahiti. There are some people you just "click" with, and these are some of those. It does help that they are all able to speak good English, because our French would not have been up to it.
We spent 3 nights, and a bit over 2 days, with them in their village of Dammartin, to the north of Paris. It was a great time, with lots of talking and lots of good food. The French have a reputation for good food and they have proven why! They are both excellent cooks and we are coming home with recipes and ideas.
They also took us places we would never have found - a visit to the extensive grounds of the Chateau de Chantilly, a walk it a large forest 40km across - though we did not go the whole way. And we talked - and talked.
